The Beauty Surgeon is here to revive your business!
Yesterday I got the opportunity to talk with, Dave Ray a.k.a. “The Beauty Surgeon” and the author of a new book called, “Mind Your Business” (and featured in the “Good Hair” Movie). He touched on some great points that we can all use to give our businesses a quick ‘face lift’! What in the world is this thing we call “Customer Service”? Do we even know? If we don’t know, how do we find out? He shared having had a ‘REALLY BAADDD ‘customer service’ experience and realized that the people who were servicing him, just didn’t know any different! So what did he do? Get mad? Maybe for a moment! But from there he set out on a quest to educate others on ‘what it is’ and ‘how to give it’!
As an example, he shares, it may show up in ‘little ways’. If our salon door says we open at 9am, are we there at 9am? Or do we just go in ‘only when we have an appointment’? And if so, why not say we work ‘by appointment only’? What a novel idea! Then there’s not someone standing at our door at 9:15 tapping their foot, wondering where we are and why aren’t our doors open? Or the other side of that, is to operate like my mentor, Saleh. On Tuesday at 9am, (and I mean, every Tuesday at 9), you could set your watch by him! He was at the salon, making sure it was clean, the doorway was swept and the fresh flowers immaculately arranged on the front desk! Both are great examples of ‘little things’ that can make a BIG difference in how our customers/clients FEEL about their experience with us! And after all, that is what keeps them coming back, right?
